Why Donate
The Foundation for Meat and Poultry Research and Education (Foundation) is a non-profit research, education and information foundation established to study ways the meat and poultry industry can produce better, safer products.
Under the direction of the Foundation’s Research Advisory Committee, several research projects will be the focus of research efforts in 2016. These projects would address identifying and implementing research needs in whole genome sequencing; validation reviews for both fresh and ready-to-eat meats; bacteriophages to reduce Shiga toxin-producing E. coli on beef cattle hides; identifying pathogen research needs during the rendering processes; and evaluating potential vectors for Salmonella contamination in poultry.
This research is not only integral to supporting processes employed by the industry but also to identifying causes and solutions to current and potential problems. As in the past, the Foundation will continue to seek cooperative funding from our industry partners, which have the common goal of improving the nation’s meat and poultry supply.
The Foundation relies on voluntary member contributions to continue its research efforts. Your support is needed to continue this important food safety initiative. Join us in making a difference by leveraging our collective resources to help improve the meat and poultry industry.
